1900 to 1909

Significant events from 1900 to 1909:

1901: A pair of lions was presented to the Zoo.

1902: Forty-nine animals were donated to the Zoo.

1903: A grizzly bear captured in Yellowstone Park was presented to the Zoo.

1907: The seven-year move to the west side of Cleveland was begun. Construction of the main building at the new location was begun.

1908: The new main building was opened.

1909: Zoo superintendent William Hadderath moved his headquarters to Brookside Park, although the zoo was still divided between the two locations.
